Robinhood is rolling out a series of new crypto features and services as it moves toward becoming a global digital finance platform. Features to be added include perpetual futures, staking, and tokenized stocks.
As of Tuesday, Ethereum and Solana staking are already available in New York. This feature will be accessible to all US users once it receives regulatory approval from each state.
In addition, Robinhood is implementing tiered fees charged to high-volume traders in the United States.
Robinhood also plans to improve its crypto trading API and implement cost basis tracking for easier tax reporting.
Meanwhile, for European users, Robinhood is adding a perpetual futures contract service. Coins that can be used for this feature include XRP, Dogecoin, and SUI with up to 7x leverage.
Previously, Robinhood's perpetual futures feature was already available in the United States, supporting BTC and ETH.
In a Decrypt statement on 09/12/2025, Robinhood explained its considerations in expanding its perpetual futures trading features to the EU.
“We looked closely at customer behavior, requests, market standards, and the evolving regulatory environment. We found that many advanced traders want access and flexibility, but they also value transparency and guardrails.”
Another new feature coming to European users is tokenized stocks. There will be more than 1,000 US equities available for trading 24/7.
This feature also introduces money market funds managed by companies such as J.P. Morgan.
Finally, the most significant product launched by Robinhood this time is a network scaling project using Layer-2. After being teased in July this year, this project now has an official name: Robinhood Chain.
Robinhood plans to become an all-in-one investment app powered by crypto. However, compared to Binance or Coinbase, Robinhood has historically lagged in terms of innovative features such as staking, derivatives trading, and non-custodial access.
Nevertheless, Robinhood is now catching up by adding staking options and launching new features in Europe. Robinhood also plans to expand its prediction market product offerings beyond the United States.
Not only that, Robinhood plans to expand its user base to Southeast Asia, specifically Indonesia. On Monday, it announced the acquisition of Buana Capital and Coinvest, two prominent players in Indonesia’s crypto economy.
Robinhood’s expansion to Europe and Indonesia highlights its vision to be a global platform that democratizes digital finance.
