The announcement will be streamed live on X on December 17 at 2 PM local time.

What is Coinbase planning? To satisfy the user base’s curiosity, Jane Manchun Wong has dropped some hints. Wong is an app researcher known for uncovering unreleased features to the public.
In an X post on 19/11/2025, Wong mentioned that Coinbase would be launching a Prediction Market. Prediction Market is a platform for the exchange of contracts whose value are determined by the outcomes of future events, like elections or sports matches.
Not only that, but Wong also leaked that Coinbase would release a stock trading feature. After being the largest cryptocurrency exchange, Coinbase seemingly plans to expand their reach by facilitating investments in other assets, such as stocks.
This aligns with Coinbase’s long-term goal, as told by Max Branzburg, vice president of product at Coinbase. In a CNBC interview, he explained, “We’re building an exchange for everything. Everything you want to trade, in a one-stop shop, on-chain.”
It is no wonder that stock investments became Coinbase’s next focus. Branzburg continued, “We’re bringing all assets on-chain — stocks, prediction markets, and more. We’re building the foundations for a faster, more accessible, more global economy.”
